A diesel locomotive with a mileage of more than 2 million km was put into operation in Orsha

In the Orsha locomotive depot named after K. S. Zaslonov, after carrying out major repairs on its own, a diesel locomotive was put into operation, the mileage of which was more than 2 million km.

The head of the Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Railways Unitary Enterprise, Alexander Khoroshevich, and the management of the Minsk and Orsha locomotive depots took part in the solemn event dedicated to this event.

“In 2022, the management of the Belarusian Railway ordered the Orsha locomotive depot named after K.S. Zaslonov to repair the diesel locomotive of the TEP70 BS series No. 009 in the scope of KR-2,” noted its head Denis Dervoed. – To implement this project, new technological processes for major repairs were mastered for the first time, and the necessary equipment was manufactured for re-tensioning electrical wiring harnesses and restoring the actuators of the electronic frequency and power controller. The equipment was modernized using our own resources. We also restored thermoplastic control panels, repaired control cabin trim, mastered the technology of restoring body paint by applying a high-quality two-component composition, repaired and restored complex body parts, track cleaners, etc.

Over 16 years of continuous operation, this locomotive has been involved in the process of transporting passengers, its mileage has amounted to more than 2 million km, and therefore there was a need for major repairs in the scope of KR-2. Labor costs amounted to 17,326.86 people/hour. Carrying out major repairs of a diesel locomotive directly at the locomotive depot made it possible to significantly save money on the railway and reduce costs by 55% compared to the cost of repairs at specialized enterprises of the Russian Federation.

The Orsha locomotive depot named after K. S. Zaslonov of the Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Railway, being the base for the factory repair of TEP70 diesel locomotives, over the last 34 years of operation of locomotives of this series has completed 78 major repairs in the scope of KR-2.
