Alexander Subbotin, Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Igor Brylo, Assistant to the President and Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Andrey Zhuk, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, Igor Markovich, Chairman of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, Dmitry Khoma, Head of the Main Department for Education of the Regional Executive Committee, and Chairman of the Republican Council of the Belarusian Union of Young People took part in the celebration of Knowledge Day at the state educational institution "Polotsk Cadet School". "September 1 is a bright and joyful holiday, the beginning of a new school year, which will bring a lot of joy, new experience, new friends to all of us," said Alexander Subbotin. – It is doubly pleasant that today we are present at a sacred place at a sacred time-the Polotsk Cadet School is moving to its historical site. The Polotsk Cadet Corps has been solving problems of training children for hundreds of years. It is also important that the banner of the Polotsk Cadet Corps, which turns 179 years old this year, has been returned. This is the oldest banner of the cadet corps of tsarist Russia, which has survived to this day. The walls of historical buildings are imbued with the spirit of patriotism, allowing you to touch our eventful history. This place has forged and continues to forge the best personnel for our country. This is confirmed by the fact that Hero of Belarus Nikita Kukanenko is a graduate of the Polotsk Cadet School. The cadets present are the pride not only of Polotsk, but of the whole country. Dear students, I wish you to be persistent in studying all disciplines, talented in mastering all new subjects. I wish the teachers patience, skill and grateful students, " the governor said.

Igor Brylo, Assistant to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, expressed his gratitude to parents and teachers and gave kind words to the children.
"I feel a sense of pride that I can share with you today this good event — Knowledge Day, which is celebrated throughout our country," Igor Brylo said. — I would like to express my great gratitude to your parents for the fact that you managed to raise true patriots in a difficult time for the country, instill in your children a love for the motherland, family values, and everything sacred that exists on our Belarusian land. Thank you so much!
The Assistant to the President thanked the teaching staff of the school for the fact that teachers continue and develop the traditions and best qualities that are inherent in children in the family, as well as give cadets new knowledge.
— A true patriot of our Motherland comes out of the school, in which you can be sure that he will not let down his country under any circumstances, - Igor Brylo emphasized.
He wished the young generation peace, kindness, understanding, success and prosperity. And also — a successful military career for those who decide to link their future life with service in the armed forces.



After reconstruction, the building has all the necessary conditions to ensure an effective educational process. 275 students will study here in the 2023/2024 academic year. The academic building is equipped with modern equipment, in a hostel for 300 people with accommodation for 4 people in a room there is a medical unit. The building, which was previously intended for the Polotsk Cadet Corps, has an assembly hall with 300 seats, a museum of the history of the cadet movement, a conference hall, choreography halls, and an office for spiritual and moral education.


For all-round development of children, a sports complex is provided, including sports, gym and wrestling halls, outdoor playgrounds with artificial turf for game sports, a gym town, a parade ground with an area of 1800 sq.m. There is a food hall with 300 seats and a cafe.
In total, during the work of the educational institution, 12 graduates (443 people) were held, among them – Hero of Belarus Nikita Kukonenko. On the territory of the school there is a memorial composition dedicated to the memory of the Hero.
