Vitebsk schoolchildren won two 1st degree diplomas at the “Young Naturalist” competition

The nominations “Bouquet for the Teacher” and “Festival “My Apple Orchard” were successful for the children and the head of the studio Lyudmila Karchmit. The winners were determined on the basis of the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History. To claim leadership, we had to try hard, because representatives from different regions of the republic came to demonstrate their projects and achievements. How was the Vitebsk EcoProstor able to impress the discerning jury?

A bouquet that requires experience and knowledge

This year, the “Bouquet for the Teacher” was a flower arrangement in a hat box (pictured). It was created in front of the jury, and in a strictly limited time - two hours. The task is quite complex, Lyudmila Karchmit emphasized, and not everyone can do it. To cope with it, you need to master many practical aspects.

“This relates more to the business bouquet, which is very cool,” noted the head of the studio. – Such skills may be useful in the future as a florist.

Since the nomination required certain knowledge and skills, an experienced participant was chosen. Ninth-grader at Vitebsk gymnasium No. 1 named after. Zh. Alferova Maria Tikhonova attended classes at EcoProstor for three years, where she managed to learn a lot. In addition, she additionally trained with a teacher while preparing for the competition. And everything worked out.

“I made a rounded composition using different elements, including roses and a small pumpkin,” said Masha. – To create a bouquet in a hat box, you need to know how to work with a sponge and soak it correctly. It is also important to arrange the plants correctly so that there is enough greenery, not just flowers, and the entire inside of the box is covered.

The winner admitted that she would like to not forget about floristry in the future, making it a second profession or hobby.

“I really like it,” Maria explained. – I’m happy when I get a beautiful bouquet. And, by the way, classes in the studio help not only with floristry. The ability to build a composition and do something with your own hands will always come in handy.

Fruit as the basis of a photo zone

The performance of Vitebsk residents in the “My Apple Orchard Festival” category was also outstanding. The project was prepared collectively, with the participation of regional institutions of additional education, as it was very multifaceted. And Maria Paskina and Ulyana Baranova presented the result. The main components are a themed photo zone, “apple” souvenirs and a herbal bar. The latter impressed with a variety of apple products.

“We brought jam, compote, juice, jam, marshmallows, marshmallows, chips made from these fruits,” lists Ekaterina Malyavskaya, head of the nature and creativity sector of the regional palace of children and youth. “We even had horseradish with them.” And also dried apples, in the form of candied fruits, fermented tea with the addition of apples. By the way, pieces of such fruits, which are familiar to us, can give a hot drink a special taste, tenderness and aroma. In addition, the exhibition presented more than 20 varieties of apples from all over the Vitebsk region: five from our own garden, the rest from the regions.

The same fruit became the basis of the photo zone. The huge apple was made using Roman techniques, and the material was maple leaves, folded and processed in a special way. Perhaps, it was this element of the exhibition that turned out to be the most impressive, noted Maria Paskina, who presented the project in the finals of the competition. Although the tasting also went well.

– Dressed in national costumes, we told what was on our table and treated the jury. We weren’t worried and counted on first place,” Masha shared her impressions. An eighth-grader from Vitebsk secondary school No. 4 has also been studying at EcoProstor for several years. Once I came for company with a friend - and was seriously carried away.

What does training include?

And the head of the studio really knows how to interest the guys. At the beginning of the training, she introduces floristry as a profession, teaches how to prepare natural materials, and create small works that require an understanding of the basics of composition and color schemes. In the second year, students study plant processing, storage, apply the acquired skills of a designer and florist to make interior compositions and bouquets, and already participate in competitions and event design. At the next stage, the guys begin to use more expensive, professional materials.

– Another area of our activity is work in the greenhouse. We conduct experiments, plant plants, and then use them to create compositions,” explained Lyudmila Karchmit. – And the basis of all our activities is ecology. We take materials from nature, use them as carefully as possible, protect the flora and be sure to replenish it.
