The anniversary evening of the well-known teacher in the city and the first director of secondary school No 40 was presented in the form of a journey through the happy stages of the birthday boy's life.
Yuri Lavrenov was greeted with warm applause in the assembly hall by colleagues and graduates of the school.
He was congratulated by the head of the education department of the administration of the Pervomaisky district of Vitebsk Tatyana Kuzmich and the chairman of the district organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Education and Science Workers Olga Gurchenko. The hero of the day was presented with gratitude, flowers and gifts.

Yuri Lavrenov thanked everyone for their kind words and noted that he devoted a lot of time and effort to secondary school No 40, conscientiously worked together with the friendly staff of the educational institution, bringing up talented students. Some of them have also chosen teaching and continue to work in schools, gymnasiums and preschool institutions in Vitebsk.
During the festive meeting, it was noted that in the 1990s, Yuri Lavrenov, together with teachers of the Voronezh State University named after P. M. Masherov, developed the concept of creating pedagogical classes. Over the years, the Vitebsk teacher worked in schools No 33 and No 43, school No 46, for more than 20 years he headed secondary school No 40, was the initiator and the first curator of the museum of the history of the school. Yuri Lavrenov is an excellent student of education of the Republic of Belarus, for many years of conscientious work, high pedagogical skill he was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Education of Belarus and other gratitude.
